A Different Approach to Enamel Care

Theodent takes a different approach to fluoride-free oral care through Rennou™ — Theodent’s proprietary theobromine-based enamel-care technology. Rennou™ combines theobromine, a naturally occurring compound found in cacao, with calcium and phosphate.

1. Theobromine from Cacao

Theobromine is a naturally occurring compound found in cacao and is at the core of Rennou™ technology. Published research has investigated theobromine in relation to enamel remineralization and apatite crystal formation.

2. Rennou™ Technology

Rennou™ is Theodent’s proprietary theobromine-based enamel-care technology combining theobromine with calcium and phosphate. It is used across the Theodent toothpaste range:

Theodent Classic — the flagship everyday Spearmint formula.

Theodent Kids — a chocolate-flavoured, non-mint formula that can be used by children, teenagers and adults who prefer a chocolate-flavoured toothpaste.

Theodent 300 — the premium formula with the highest Rennou™ concentration in the Theodent range.

3. Research on Enamel Remineralization

Published research has investigated theobromine in relation to enamel remineralization, apatite crystal formation and dentinal tubule occlusion. In an in vitro enamel remineralization study, theobromine produced comparable enamel remineralization to fluoride at a 71× lower molar concentration. This laboratory finding does not mean Theodent is 71× more effective than fluoride.

4. Fluoride-Free Oral Care

Theodent Classic, Theodent Kids and Theodent 300 are fluoride-free, SLS-free, gluten-free and titanium dioxide-free.
